Netherlands South wins Youth Talent World Cup (U16)

The South district of the Netherlands took home the Youth Talent Cup in Schijndel last weekend. The Netherlands was able to take home the price after an exciting final against the Chinese Tapai (Taiwan) national team.

The Youth Talent World Cup is the unofficial world championships in korfball for teams under 16 years old. This year the event took place in Schijndel, the Netherlands. The tournament was organised by the korfball club from schijndel, De Boemerang.

Great Britain kicked off the tournament with a victory against Belgium, again proving that UK korfball is on the rise. Meanwhile Germany was showing a strong South-African team that they are still the stronger nation.

After the first day the following ranking was reached:

Poule 1:
1 Chinese Taipei
2 Czech Republic
3 The Netherlands (South)
4 Hungary
5 Catalonia

Poule 2:
1 Great Britain
2 Belgium Antwerpen/Kempen
3 Germany
4 Slovakia
5 South Africa
6 Armenia

On the second day the teams played cross finals to come to a final ranking.
